6. For the Filling:
7. 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, drained and crumbled
8. 1 tbsp olive oil
9. 1/2 cup vegan bacon, chopped (optional)
10. 1/2 cup vegan cheese, shredded
11. 1/2 cup unsweetened plain almond milk
12. 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
13. 1 tsp onion powder
14. 1/2 tsp garlic powder
15. 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
16. Salt and pepper to taste

Steps of Vegan Quiche Lorraine Recipe

# Steps
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt for the crust. Cut in the vegan butter using a pastry cutter or your hands until the mixture resembles coarse sand.
3. Gradually add in the ice-cold water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together and forms a ball. Shape it into a disk and wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
4. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle. Transfer the dough to a 9-inch pie dish and trim off any excess dough. Use a fork to poke holes all over the bottom of the crust.
5. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the vegan bacon (if using) until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
6. In a food processor, blend the crumbled tofu, olive oil, almond milk, nutritional yeast, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
7. Spread the cooked vegan bacon (if using) and shredded vegan cheese evenly over the bottom of the pie crust. Pour the tofu mixture on top, spreading it out to create an even layer.
8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
9. Let the quiche cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Tips:
  • You can make the crust ahead of time and refrigerate it for up to 2 days before using.
  • If you don't have a food processor, you can use a blender or a hand mixer to blend the tofu mixture.
  • You can substitute the vegan bacon with sautéed mushrooms or chopped spinach for a different flavor.
  • For a gluten-free version, use a gluten-free flour blend in place of the all-purpose flour.
Enjoy your Vegan Quiche Lorraine with a side salad or some roasted vegetables for a complete meal!
