Steps of Chocolate Babka Recipe

# Steps
1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
2. In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter together until the butter has melted. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.
3. Add the milk mixture and eggs to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
5. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
6. While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. Melt the chocolate chips and butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt and mix until smooth. Set aside to cool.
7. In a separate bowl, prepare the topping by mixing together the flour, sugar, butter, and cocoa powder until crumbly.
8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
9. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a 12x16 inch rectangle.
10. Spread the chocolate filling evenly over the dough, leaving about 1/2 inch border around the edges.
11. Roll the dough tightly, starting from the long edge, and pinch the ends to seal.
12. Cut the dough lengthwise down the middle to create two long pieces. Twist the pieces together and place in the greased loaf pan.
13. Sprinkle the topping over the babka, pressing it gently into the dough.
14. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the babka comes out clean.
15. Allow the babka to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing and placing on a wire rack to cool completely.
Use high-quality chocolate for the filling to ensure a rich and flavorful babka. If the dough is sticky, add a little bit of flour at a time until it becomes easy to handle. For a more intense chocolate flavor, add a tablespoon of instant coffee to the filling mixture. Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage. Enjoy your delicious Chocolate Babka!
