Steps of Vegan Apple Tart Recipe

1. | Preheat the oven to 375°F. |
2. | In a large bowl, mix together the flour and salt. Add in the vegan butter and use a pastry cutter or your hands to combine until the mixture resembles coarse sand. |
3. | Add in the cold water and mix until a dough forms. |
4. | On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thick. Carefully transfer the dough to a 9-inch tart pan and trim off any excess dough. Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork. |
5. | In a separate bowl, mix together the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Toss until the apples are well-coated. |
6. | Arrange the apple slices on top of the crust in a circular pattern, starting from the outside and working your way in. |
7. | Bake the tart for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are soft. |
8. | While the tart is baking, make the glaze by mixing together the maple syrup and water in a small bowl. |
9. | When the tart is done baking, remove it from the oven and brush the glaze over the top. |

Tips:
- You can use any type of apple for this recipe, but we recommend using a tart variety like Granny Smith for the best flavor.
- If you don't have a tart pan, you can use a pie dish instead.
- For an extra crispy crust, you can blind bake the crust for 10-15 minutes before adding the filling.
