Ingredients for Dal Dhokli Recipe

Ingredients
For Dhokli:
3/4 cup wheat floor
1/4 tbsp carom seeds
1/4 tbsp turmeric powder
1/2 tbsp red chili powder
Salt to taste
1/2 tbsp oil
For Dal:
3/4 cup split pigeon pea (Toovar Dal)
1 green chili, chopped
1/4 tbsp ginger, chopped
1 medium tomato, chopped
1/4 tbsp turmeric powder
1/2 tbsp red chili powder
1/2 tbsp dhanajira powder (cumin-coriander powder)
1/2 tbsp Mustard seeds
1/4 tbsp Cumin seeds
6-8 Curry leaves
1/4 tbsp Asafoetida
2 tbsp Jaggery, chopped
4 tbsp Peanuts
1 tbsp Oil
1 Whole dry red chili
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
Coriander leaves, chopped

Steps of Dal Dhokli Recipe

# Steps
1. To make Dhokli, In a bowl add wheat flour, salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, carom seeds, oil and mix. Knead stiff dough using sufficient water. Cover the dough and keep aside.
2. Divide the dough in five equal portions. And roll out each portion in to a thin circle. Cut each chapatti in to a 1 – 1/2 inches square and keep aside.
3. Wash the dal and pressure cook it with 3 cup water up to 3 whistles or till completely cooked.
4. Add 2 cup water and tomato and blend using hand blender to smooth liquid.
5. Transfer into a deep pan and place it on flame. Add turmeric powder, green chili, ginger, dhana- jeera powder, red chili powder, salt, jaggery, peanut and mix well. Cook on medium flame for 5 minutes.
6. For Seasoning, heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and cumin seed. When seeds crackle add asafoetida, curry leaves, whole dried red chili and add it to dal.
7. Add dhokli in to the dal. And cook on low flame for 15 min while stirring occasionally.
8. Add lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix well. Switch off the flame and serve immediately.
