Beetroot contains a large amount of iron, calcium and vitamins and it is low in fat. But most of the people and especially kids don't like the taste of beetroot. But beetroot halwa is a tasty and delicious recipe of desert made from beetroot. Even kids also like this desert. Beetroot halwa is also a festival delight.

250 gram beetroot
3 tbsp ghee
1 and 1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup mawa (Khoya)
3 tbsp Sugar or as per taste
For Garnishing,
Nuts, chopped
Coconut, grated

1.
Wash the beetroot and Peel the skin and grate them.
2.
In a non stick pan heat the ghee and add beetroot and sauté for 5 minutes.
3.
Add milk and mix well. Cook till milk evaporates completely while stirring continuously.
4.
Add mawa (Khoya) and sugar and cook for 5 minute or till sugar is completely dissolved.
5.
Add nuts and switch off the flame.
6.
Transfer into the serving bowl and Garnish with nuts and grated coconut and serve.
