Steps |
1. |
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a donut pan with non-stick cooking spray. |
2. |
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. |
3. |
In another bowl, mix together the apple cider, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. |
4. |
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. |
5. |
Fill a piping bag or a plastic bag with the batter and snip the end to make a small hole. |
6. |
Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full. |
7. |
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a donut comes out clean. |
8. |
Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes, then remove them and let them cool completely on a wire rack. |
9. |
For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating: |
10. |
In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon until well combined. |
11. |
Heat the vegetable oil in a large, deep skillet over medium heat until it reaches 375°F. |
12. |
Using a slotted spoon, carefully place a few donuts at a time into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side. |
13. |
Remove the donuts from the oil with the slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. |
14. |
While the donuts are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until coated on all sides. |
15. |
Serve immediately and enjoy! |
