Steps |

Wash and Soak all the dal for an half an hour. Pressure cook dal with 4 cup water, salt and turmeric powder up to three whistle or till completely cook. |

Heat the ghee in a deep pan and add cumin seeds. When seeds crackle add cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon stick, dry red chilli, asafoetida. |

Add onion, ginger and garlic paste and cook for four minutes. Add tomatoes, red chilli powder, coriander- cumin powder, garam masala powder, salt and saute for two minutes. |

Add boiled dal and mix well and blend it. Add little water to adjust the consistency of dal. (Dal is thick for Dal baati) |

Cook it for five minutes while stirring occasionally. Add coriander leaves and mix well and keep aside. |

For baati mix all the ingredient in a bowl and knead into a semi stiff dough using water. Preheat oven to 180°C. |

Divide dough into eight equal portion and roll into a round ball. Grease the baking tray and place baati and press them little. |

Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake it at 180°C till it done. Or you can use baati tandoor to cook the baati. |

When baati done. Brake it into pieces in the bowl and add ghee over baatis and soak them and serve hot. |
