1. | 1 cup Black Gram Split |
2. | 1 tbsp ghee |
3. | ½ tbsp cumin seeds (jeera) |
4. | 1 tbsp ginger- garlic paste |
5. | 2 green chili, Chopped |
6. | 1 medium tomato, Chopped |
7. | ¼ tbsp Turmeric powder |
8. | ¼ tbsp red chili powder |
9. | ¾ tbsp coriander- cumin powder |
10. | Salt as per taste |
11. | 2 tbsp coriander Leaves, chopped |
Steps of Black gram Dal Recipe

1. | Wash the Black gram dal and soaked it for one hour. |
2. | Heat butter in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds. When seed crackle add Black gram split, ginger garlic paste, green chili, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander – cumin powder, tomato, salt and mix well. Add two cup water and stir it. |
3. | Close the lid and cook it up to four whistles. One whistle on high flame and three on low flame. |
4. | After escaping the steam open the lid and add coriander and mix well. |
5. | Serve with chapatti or rice. |
